When picking spark plugs for my 283 with 305 heads, does it matter what year the 305 heads were made? I am not sure what vehicle they came from, just that they are 305 heads. When searching for plugs, all the sites ask for a year, car,etc.. Would it make a difference to randomly pick a year? or is there a better alternative?
    Thanks,
    Paul

Maybe that question is better asked on a Chevy forum?

The iron heads should all be the same. GM switched from washer seat to taper seat plugs around 1971. The 305 didn't come out until '76 I think? So they should all be taper seat plugs. With the valve cover off you could decipher the date code to know for sure what year it is. Aluminum 305 heads would be different most likely.
