Never in the CJ-5 or CJ-6. Never.

In the CJ-7, the TH400 and Quadratrac 1976-79. Then 1980-86 the TF999 with the Dana 300. The CJ-8 also got the TF999/D300. There may have been 4-cylinder CJ7s and CJ-8s with the TF904.

In other models, too many to list. The Wrangler has always had an automatic option.

To add a little to Tims list, Commandos had the Turbo 400 behind the :v6:
Of course, most Wagoneers & J series came with autos too.

The first Wagoneers with the 230 had an automatic option - the Borg-Warner automatic with a Dana 21 single speed transfer case. From '65 through 79 Jeep only offered the TH400 in all lines. It was optional for the Jeepster Commando, both with the 225 and with the AMC engines. Prior to the arrival of the B-W Quadratrac in '73, these were offered only with the Dana 20.

NB Jeep used the "universal" or "nailhead" case TH400 prior to about 1973, then switched to an AMC pattern case. These early versions used an adapter ring between the nailhead transmission and engine, and convertors and flexplates are difficult to impossible to source now.
