72 windshield

    I have a 72 cj 5 ... I measured the windshield channel and got 15 1/2 x 57" I found a used one for sale and he said it measures 15x 56 3/4... I assume the extra space will be filled with gasket ... Am I right?... He only wants 50 for it and if it would work id like to get it.... If so any recommendations on a source for a gasket?

    Any of Jeep parts supplier will have the gaskets for you...4wheel parts, quadratec, etc.

    I'm not sure of the measurements, but that sounds like its reasonable to expect some difference when the gasket is applied. I'm not sure it's a 1/2" though.

    Watch out for the Omix-Ada gaskets. They don't put the windshield at the right angle and do t hold up well. DeBellas Jeep Parts had some NOS units.
    The measurement differences could just be where you and he are measuring also.

    it should be about a half inch the rubber is just under a quarter leaving a little space for sealer.
