T-18 will it bolt up to BOP bell

Wonder if a jeep t-18 will bolt up to BOP bell housing? I know that the front output shaft has to be the shorter one from a cj and not from a jeep truck. Thanks fdpwr2a

 

To work with a BOP bell, it needs to be shorter than a CJ, like one from a Ford.

 

The Ford version T-18 with the 6.5" stick out input shaft with the extra two un-drilled bosses in the case can be converted to be used as a direct bolt up with a few other mods to the BOP bell-housing...........I do not believe the Jeep version case has this option but can be attached with a short adapter while using the longer 7+ inch input shaft..............but as you add length your rear drive shaft becomes shorter ..............Your best bet would be to get on the phone with Novak adapters with the case nearby to describe what you have.

 

yes and no , it depends on how much your willing to go for this install . I do run the jeep T18 (1979) in my jeep . BOP bell will only work with some modifications . weld build up for lower right hole , so it can be drilled and tap. the lower left hole will have to have a little build up for the bolt head ( I used a button head cap bolt). the reason I didn't use the BOP was it was too close to master cylinder brake line .

Or, R&P's kit using a Ford case. Cheaper, but requires totally disassembling the trans & swapping everything into the new case.

Either way, make sure the T18 you have is the right version, There's several different versions with different gear tooth counts.
