Purchased a fast efi conversion kit for my stock 74 cj5 ..I got tired of being that guy who kept stalling out in the steep rock climbs...
The kit was supposed to have all the items needed to make the swap..or so I thought.....

the jeep version of the fast efi kit comes with only two injectors in the throttle body instead of the normal 4 and a base plate that necks down the four ports of the throttle body to one big hole to feed fuel down the dual port of the jeep intake manifold...
my intake manifold is a single port with a carter carburetor bolted to it...so the adapter plate would not work for me...

My options are to buy a used dual port intake manifold from ebay or craigslist and hope its not someone's junk.... Or, buy a new intake manifold....offenhauser makes one for my straight 6 ,258 and the throttle body will bolt right on with no adapter plate.

    What I didn't anticipate ....
the new intake manifold is split into an upper half and a lower half... Two ports feed the bottom half and the other two ports feed the top half...I wasn't sure if the throttle body with only two injectors would work with this new manifold? two injectors would feed the bottom half of the intake, and the top half would only be fed air When full throttle is applied...
Called the tech department at fast and they verified it would run just not well.

I need to give the technicians at fast there props because they did perform...they swapped my intake manifold for a standard one with four injectors at no charge...
Tomorrow I will start the install and continue this post.,,,

The adapter looks like it is for a later model 2 barrel 258 manifold.

Edit: I should read closer. You already knew this.

FWIW - I hated their hoses and fittings - HUGE PITA to try to put together. I went with the Summit fittings and hoses on my setup.

Love it so much I am going to swap the Powerjection III to my wife's Mustang and replace it with another one of the EZ-EFI setups so both 225s will be running the same setup (less stuff to carry for me).

Did some more work this weekend, dropped the fuel tank to install the fuel hose and return line, installed the fuel pump on the passenger side rail with some rubber grommets to keep vibration down to a min...installed new intake, screwed up on the weld-in o2 sensor bung so I can't complete it until I get a new one...

Yes warlock The fittings were tough. No matter how much I greased or heated the hose I could only get them to push on most of the way... I used a clamp for extra insurance ....

Nice pics, I loved when I switched over to FI, best thing I did, starts and runs a lot smoother. Good luck on the finishing touches

I still have a coil of their hose on a shelf. I'll price the next one with and without the fuel setup and see my cost on a separate pump and wires. I had to order a special fitting to adapt the input to the AN -6 I ran as it is.
