There is a parts manual for '74 on the Tom Collins site. http://oljeep.com/edge_74_parts_manual.html The column is in section 10. Use those part numbers to search for replacement parts - that will remove any doubt about getting the right part.

The bottom bearing/bushing is often needed, but it is NLA. A member on here - McRuff - makes them on request and made one for me. If you need one, send him an email and ask about price and availability.

I would guess that almost everything for that column is now NLA. If you need a lot of the pieces, I suggest you look around for a complete good used column and go with that. Or go with a hot rod column from Flaming River or Ididit. Sorry, that's just the way it is for intermediate Jeeps.

Heh. Search good. Well, I must have looked up the numbers before. I suggest you Google for the parts you need using "Jeep <part number>" - that will bring up the ones that are available. Anything else you can find in the parts book, like I did.

The 6xxxxx series numbers are reeeally old - from the MB and CJ2A years. The 99xxxx series parts are from the late V6 years or thereabouts. The other 9xxxxx parts are Willys CJ5 era.

There is a parts book online at the Tom Collins site. I gave you the link above. It would be helpful to look at that and describe what you need with part numbers or by pointing to the index on the illustration.

    Group 3 - L18 and Group 10 - L9.

Yeah, that's a drag. Apparently they did not include the illustrations.

I'm looking at a printed copy.

If the illustration pages were present, they would have been labeled at the bottom with page indices, ie L18 (legend 18?)

    Sorry I led you astray.

There is a horn contact ring 990193 that goes to the button (metal sleeve and bushing?). I believe the ground is from that to the column via the brass disk under the button. I don't see any source for it online - it does not usually wear out. The spring contact to the ring on the plastic cover is part of the turn signal assembly, 5454971. That PN includes the switch complete with its harness - a complete assembly. There is no PN for the plastic cover and contact itself.

There is a bracket at the firewall, 999559. The other half of that is called a clamp, 5351247. These are not the kind of parts that will be available aftermarket.

If you can't find them private party, you could try J&W in Antelope CA. Almost certain they will have them.
