I have looked at the bearcreaksurvey manafold Dauntless v6 stickers and they are clearly green, white and red color scheme. I emailed them and this is the only one they carry. They were unaware of any other stickers used back then. My stock 67 cj has not been rebuilt yet and is stock original. My stickers are well worn but are clearly gold, white and red. They match the v6 logos on the side which are also gold, white and red.

    :v6:

Does anyone make this correct color scheme to replace my old stickers or is this all there is available? If so I will keep my old stickers and re use them after repainting the covers. My oil bath air cleaner has no sticker on it and I am not sure if it came that way or not. My dad bought it new and I do not remember it having anything on it so I assume it was original with no sticker.
    Thank you,

    Peter

if you could post up a picture of the valve cover sticker,

I don't know where you could get that sticker perhaps you could talk to a vinyl shop that does stickers.

Me too. I recall Jeepsters had a different color scheme than CJ's on the V-6 emblems so that could be the case here. Maybe a case of the factory using what they had on hand until supplies replenished? Don't know if that's the case here but have seen it many times in other instances.

I think Peter's decal looks this....Can't 100% guarantee this one is original for my 1970 V6 CJ5, but I'd give it a pretty good chance. No other decals either. Maybe its original, maybe its not. Never noticed it matches the metal V6 side ornaments.http://[IMG]

Hmmm. I like that one too. I bought the others since I thought that was the deal... New relevant ions I'm looking forward to bumping into. Now wondering the year span. Didn't see any stickers on my oil bath air cleaner.

Pulled this sticker off a valve cover on a '67 Dauntless. There was a guy on e-bay that had them several months ago, can't find them now however. Pretty pricey, best I remember it was almost $50 for three of them.

The sticker is a silver foil base with the gold, red, white and black outline of the Dauntless printed on the silver foil

On mine it's hard to make out the decals but it is this one. Again I'm not 100% it's stock but it's definitely possible. Mine is also a 1970.

    Decal on the cleaner

Then on the valve covers was the one shown already.

Edit: forgot to mention they are both available on eBay, just looked and they are not very expensive.

that is really interesting, I seem to recall that gold foil stuff when I was scraping the grease off of my valve covers on the 66. I thought it was really weird, but I will make a call later today to have someone double check that.

Also have the smooth top oil bath air cleaner with the front crankcase vent sticker and no Buick markings, but that is covered in the research section of the forum.

That's what my '66 Tuxedo had on it, jw, when I bought it. Haven't found correct replacements anywhere. Really like that style. The ones available just don't quite get it for me. Plus, I want it to be original when I'm done.

Fantastic pic's. The ones posted are exactly like my '67 cj5 originals. Clearly gold and I agree with the foil. The only ones I have seen for sale have green instead of gold. Maybe the green was used on the Jeepsters or perhaps different years. I do not know but it does match the logos on the side with the gold which to me is old school cool. Sounds like there might be some gold color ones around but much harder to find or out of print?? I am going to try and re use mine even though they are worn like the ones in the last post.
