So my dad and I found this jeep out in the middle of Nowhere, Louisiana about a year ago in a barn/shed behind an abandoned house.

This is the original photo I took:

We went and talked to the neighbors about finding out who owned it. This old lady said the man who owned it died and left it to his two kids; one lived in Michigan and the other lived in west Texas. She didn't have a number or address for either of them but that I could talk to the old man's long time girlfriend who was still alive. My dad called her and she wouldn't give out any information about them because she thought he was scamming her or something. We left it alone...what can we do?

Fast forward a year and I had to drive by there for work....there it was but it was pulled out the barn. I went and talked to that lady again and it was the same old song and dance. Since I am in the business of Property research for the Oil and Gas business, I went by that area's courthouse. Long story short, the next day we went and picked it up.

It's a 1946 CJ2A and titled as such. It's got an original back seat. The body is 50 times better than my CJ5 when I got it and this one is 24 years older. The floor is still all in it including under the tool box. It also has what we believe to be one of the early driver's side heater up under the dash. It did have a funky roll bar and a couple other things on it. All that was taken off. Luckily there weren't any funky bumpers welded to it or anything. If I had the money right now to do what I did to my CJ5, I bet I could to a full rebuild in just a couple months.

It's not quite as good as that auction 2A Art bought as far as condition, but it's way up there. It's the best un-rebuilt condition, oldest jeep I've ever run across. We couldn't pass it up

I'll post up some pics of the engine and other areas when I get it from my dad's house back to mine

The plan is for this one to drive this to high school when he gets up there

So who owned it? Did you buy it from a kid of the old guy that passes away? Great Story....
