Well...my new u-joints came in from Krage. When I ordered them either he or I was mistaken about the sizes of the u-joints. I read his add to think that on the front shaft, there was a small end and a large end requiring two dif size joints for the front shaft. I should have checked first because the joints on the front shaft are both small. So..I've got to return one large joint for a small one.

The rear shaft has clips that have to be removed in order to get the u-joint out. The front one has no clips....but I talked to Billy and Billy informed me that the clips are there but there on the inside of the yoke rather than on the outside...so I've got to clean them up and find them.

One mistake I made was trying to pound out the joints on the front shaft without removing the clips (I thought there were none since I couldn't seem them on the outside). As a result, I've compressed the yoke a tiny bit...enough to make it hard to wobble the u-joint (the one that I couldn't get out).

I figure I can take a 1/2" diameter bolt with a nut and insert it between the flanges of the yoke and then turn the nut opening up the yoke a bit....this sound OK?

I also noticed that I was mistaken about the d-shafts being out of alignment. The rear one was perfect...the front however was out a couple degrees. I turned it one spline to the corrected direction and it was off the same amount in the other direction. Meaning that it aint gonna get perfectly aligned. Is this a bad problem? Billy said I might should turn it 90 degrees....correct?

Also...the joints seemed to be in perfect working condition so I don't think I'm going to solve my vibration problems in the u-joint replacement.
