locating the pitman on the out put shaft

    My pit-man shaft has , what looks like a line stamped on it, but the new shaft has nothing..any advice on where to put it on the shaft?

    Is there a master spline? That would tell you quick.

    No , but I found after a really hard look an found a punch mark on the old shaft. So I am going with that...tks Grunt

    General rule of thumb is to center the steering wheel & the pitman arm drops straight down.

    I agree, assuming it is a Ross cam and lever steering system.
