And the sending unit --- Since this engine has a heater and does not use a bypass hose, I suppose it could be plugged into the head where the bypass hose would normally be?????

My electric fans are screwed to sheet metal and pulls the air through. Kind of like a fan shroud.

My 62 had a generic pusher in it. I reversed the leads and made it a puller after I swapped to an aluminum radiator for a mid 60's Falcon. Fan works great, does its job perfectly.

You can purchase the BMW 2 stage temp switch from rock auto for around $13 Part # 61311378073 or snag it from a 90's BMW

The controller can be found in 93-97 Volvo vehicles or new for about $60 part # 1398845

If there isn't a boneyard nearby I have a couple extra controllers I'd be willing to sell for $25 plus the ride. They come with plug connectors as well.

Got the controller just fine, but there is still a question in my mind about the wiring of the unit.

Are you using two speed fans, (three wire, ground, hi speed and low speed) and the output of the controller -----red wire and green wire------are both "Y" connected to each fan for speed control.

Or are you running single speed fans, (two wire, ground and power) the output from the controller -----red wire to one fan, and green wire to the other fan, and the controller feeds different voltage depending on the temp sensor activation??

    Thanks

When the temp switch calls for low speed both fans run on low, when it calls for high, both run on high. There is a resistor on the fan shroud to lower the voltage to run at low speed. I decided to mount the fan with the resister on the top to keep it out of the water and dirt as much as possible.

There is only 3 wires coming from the fan that need to be connected, 1 black wire to ground, the other 2 wires are green w/tr and green o/tr, they connect to the green and red on the controller (doesn't matter which way you connect the wires they work either way). The 2 thin wires on the controller connect to the temp switch (low/high) and the single red wire on the controller goes to battery. This is the easiest and least expensive way I've found to run an e-fan. Hope this helps.

I used a fan from a 90s Cherokee with a 6, with a Hayden controller. it is a little small, but has worked good so far.

Any chance someone can draw up a quick wiring diagram? Mike S or Chuck? Or if I draw it up as I understand it, will one of you guys correct it as needed? Thanks....
