Hey, how and what do i measure to tell how much lift a spring has and what is the correct eye-eye measurement for a 66 cj5? Thanks, i'm looking at buying 3 inch springs and want to make sure they are 3 inch and will fit my jeep. http://baltimore.craigslist.org/pts/3995067349.html Thanks again, Geoffrey.

To get in the ball park, I would measure the width of your stock springs, the length of your stock springs from eye-to-eye, and then with a string run from eye to eye, the height from the top of the spring to the string.

Then I would measure the new springs and compare. Width and eye-to-eye length should be the same and the height from the spring top to the string should be 3" further. Give or take. The weight on your stock springs and any sag that exists in the stock springs or the lift springs will obviously change the numbers a little.
