re clocking / cenetering a manual steering box?

    OK, we are taling about a 1965 CJ5 completely stock...

    I found her a new home after restoring and enjoying her... the transporter cranked hard on the wheel while rolling her off the trailer and the front wheels were wedge on the guide rails of the trailer...

    now she is anti NASCAR and only wants to turn right...

    can I back off the edjustment screw on the side og the box and re center it without damaging it?

    Not sure I understand- is the steering jammed to the right, or does it pull to the right when driving? Either way the adjusting screw on the box doesn't affect centering the steering.

    if jammed you have a re-build to do, if pulling then a front end alignment and/or replacement of damaged components is in order.

    if you're not familiar with the Ross box/drag link steering system do a search here on "Death Wobble" & pick up a factory service manual for rebuild info.

    If it is stuck, try popping lose a tie rod end and re centering. If that does not work look at the steering box

    Make a claim against the transporters insurance if you can prove they damaged the steering between leaving you and arriving where-ever.

    That is something they should be taking care of!

    Are you sure it's not a tie rod or other linkage hanging up on something?
