Trying to get this installed this weekend - if you (or anyone else who runs one) could take a few pics of it on your rig I’d be much obliged - the pics on the AA install PDF are too low res to see.

Been reading these threads since I brought that '70 CJ5 V-6 home last week. Here's what I found under it.

That's definitely some sort of home built contraption. Yours should have the cable clutch like pictured on the first page of this thread. Your frame bracket is still there, if your transfer case mounted bracket is missing, post in the classifieds here and somebody may have one. You can get quality new cables from Inline Tube.

Thanks for the reply, yes, definitely home made. Here's what the rest of it looks like. TC bracket still there. For some reason they must have decided they didn't like the cable and came up with this. I'll go ahead and order the cable, but actually I kinda like this home brewed solution, looks like it's been doing the job for awhile, transmission shifts fine, so as long as it keeps working okay I'll probably keep it. Should be easy to switch back to the cable if I decide to later.

I have seen that clutch linkage on something, probably one of the various old tractors I have owned over the years. From the color of the remnant of paint on the outboard rod, I am thinking it may be from a AC tractor, but I have owned so many old cars, trucks, and tractors it could be something else. Looks like an upgrade from the cable system.

What does the conversion kit 992824 include? I'm curious what the "anti chatter" part is.
