    Welcome !
13831 is most likely sequential serial number
there should be some more numbers in between the 8322 and the 13831
    for a total of 12 or 13 numbers/letters if I recall
did your numbers come off the tag on the firewall?

EDIT: oh yea, they are going to ask for pics.........

Nope, that is al there is on this metal tag. It is a square metal tag that says Jeep
then serial number 8322 13831, under that is Kaiser Jeep Corporation and under that is Toledo Ohio

Your jeep looks to be a '65 model. It should have a 4 cyl and a column shift.

    8322 = tuxedo park jeep
13831 = the 3,831 st tuxedo park off the assembly line.

No other digits should be in the number. additional digits came beginning in '66

    What state are you in?

Did you buy it from another state?

    Any pictures?

So that means that Tuxedo Parks did have their own serial numbers? I had done a search and I thought the answer was they didn't have their own.

They most certainly do. That was the first thing I learned when I came to this site. Between Hippo and Kamel I learned all that I know today about Tuxes.

    And...the CJ6A is different from the CJ5A. The 5 is 8322. I "believe" the 6 is 8422.

Tuxedo Park mark IV had its own serial number scheme 8322 and 8422 for cj5A and CJ6A respectively.

The Tuxedo Park Mark III did not have a separate set of serial numbers, sorta like the Renegade or "Super Jeep".

The Mark III was made between '62 and '63 with maybe a couple in '61
