Looking to replace my fuel tank. Have a 74 CJ5 with 258, 4 speed. What do you think would be the best replacement tank for the Jeep? Would like to find a good quality made in the USA tank. Also would like to know if replacement tanks have all the needed design features for easy install and fit. I have noticed fuel tanks on Ebay, but not sure where they are made and what kind of fit? No plastic, steel only. Any preferences?

I think if you buy steel, you're going to get an import tank.

MTS makes plastic replacement tanks that are well regarded.

I chose them for my replacement. The tank just looks and feels like quality.

What was the problem with the MTS tank? I looked at topics started by you and didn't see one about a tank. I'm curious since I have one. Did it split?

I've seen a few MTS tanks and was not impressed with its build quality.

I went with the cheap option and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the spectra tank made in Canada
