    "Also when did the windshield hold down latch disappear?"

    Did they ever have one? A hood hold UP latch, yes. Windshield hold DOWN was a strap and footman loops, on all mine.

    Personally I always wanted to set up the latch for a safety hold-down. Would be more useful.
