I looked over the different forums and didn't find my answer....
I own a 53' M38a1 with stock Dana 44 & Dana 25 with 11" drums and it still has the stock brake Master Cylinder under the floor board. I'm adding Dana 44's front and rear, the rear has 11" drums but the front has disc brakes.

My question is can I use the existing MC with a disc brake proportion valve? Has any one tired this or do you need the entire set up from a later model? Is it possible to modify a newer disc brake MC to work where the existing MC is now under the floor board? Trying to keep the stock look with modern conveniences. Any suggestions?

You may find that the stock MC will not deliver enough pressure to make the disc brakes work properly.

Most vehicles with disc brakes usually need a power booster on the MC.

If you use organic pads the stock mc can work fine but may need a proportioning valve for the drum brakes and a 2 lb residual pressure valve for the discs. The stock residual pressure valve will need removed from the stock m/c. Fwiw I've been running 4 wheel discs with the stock mc for many, many years. Biggest disadvantage is safety with the single reservoir mc. Might also check out R&P's dual reservoir kit which is much easier to install than the one Kaiserwillys sells. The one they sell iirc is the Hermtheoverdriveguy setup. Some like it but some have had issues. Do a search here. There should be lots of reading on the subject.

Thank you! I did do a lot of research and ended up with my own set up but bought the Wilwood tandem MC with remote reservoirs. I like where the MC is located under the floor board but wanted to raise the the fluid reservoir. Bought a proportioning valve and a 2 lb rpv's with my order. The Wilwood MC comes with 10 lb rpv installed front and rear and need to remove the front..... I'll post my Hydralic clutch conversion (which is done) and my MC conversion once it's completed. My brackets are the same for both and they actually Da-Lite Projector Screen mounting brackets, I install commercial audio/visual and had these left over on a job. Super heavy duty brackets.
