I am tracking down the parts for a MSD ignition addition, MSD recommends a colder plug... How do I track down a colder than factory plug? What was the factory temp plug?
    (From MSD)
"We recommend using a plain copper plug; 1-2 steps colder than factory recommendation and increase the gap on the plug in .005 increaments until you have a nice smooth running engine and there is a nice tan/carmel color on the porcelain. This could end up to be in the .050-.060 range."

Is this enough? Look up your application on RockAuto. For Champion plugs, the old-style number is listed along with the application, like RN14YC. Here's Champion's numbering system: http://www.sparkplugs.com/Data/uploads/champion_numbering_system.jpg Other manufacturers have their own numbering system. So to go colder, you'd go RN12YC or RN10YC. Plug the new number into the PN lookup on RockAuto to see if that plug exists.
