I recently cleaned up and rebuilt my T15. It shifts like it should. The only issue I have is a oil seep at the countershaft bore in the front of the case. The joint between the case and bell stays oily. It's not too bad that it drips, but it is a nuisance. This is probably the source of the caked on mud before I cleaned it up. What would you do?
    Wheel it?
Cut a gasket or use RTV between the case and bell?
Swap the guts over to a $200 NOS case?
Swap the guts over to a $50 plus shipping used, but checked case from R&P?
Wheel it with long range thoughts of swapping to a different transmission? I have a T150 on the shelf in need of a rebuild.
    Your input is appreciated.

Well, a T-150 is definitely a step down from a T-15. A T-15 is definitely stronger than a T-150. And you'll need a different bell. And the bell is shorter, so everything moves forward in addition to whatever the difference in case length is (I'd guess the T-150 is a little shorter).

There are two reasons the countershaft bore leaks. 1) the bore is scored (has a slight groove) which some careful cleaning on the end and some RTV in the bore/end of the shaft can seal the leak. 2) the bore is worn allowing the counter gear shaft to move around. In this instance the only fix is to replace the case as no matter what you do the shaft will still have movement keeping it from ever sealing properly. The shaft should be a slight interference (press) fit into the case.
