These are the very first pics when I went and looked at the Jeep, taken March of 2012. It had been on a farm for some years and had not been tagged since the early 1980's. When I went to look at it, it was parked under a tree, full of leaves but running so I took a chance and gave the man $900 and took it home.

    Notice the wooden bumper

    Abundant rust

    Got potential?

Notice the boat gas tank in the bed....

Got her home and the work begins!

More posts to follow, as the Jeep is now 95% complete...... I've got just a few more pics to post when I have more time.....

    Thanks,
    Josh

My father in law and I when we brought home an old car to restore always used the the same quotation "It's got potential" seemed to work pretty good for us good price and rust can be fixed

I was searching on Craigslist one night and happened to find a post named "Jeep Tube For Sell." Being like I am, the misspelling of tub caught my attention. When I clicked on the ad, there was a description of an early CJ tub! I called the guy the next day, we talked, and he sent me some pictures. Just so happens that this aftermarket tub had never been mounted on a Jeep and had been sitting for about three years. The guy was located in Sylacauga, Alabama so I had a buddy of mine, who basically built the whole Jeep (with a little help from me), go and pick it up. I was able to negotiate $1250 for the tub, which I thought was a great deal, seeing how they sell for over $4000 online.

It was kinda crazy how everything came together on this Jeep. My buddy who helped me with the paint had a body shop for 25 years and was recently unemployed, finding this tub on a random late night Craigslist search, and receiving back pay from the VA later that week helped me get a good start on this thing.
