I've been unable to get my frame un-twisted and my tub is in pretty poor shape. I happened across a pretty nice looking tub and frame off craigslist. The seller isn't sure on the year (mid-70s) but I can make out the passenger side toolbox. $250 for both the frame and tub. Could I swap out this frame & tub and re-use all my suspension & driveline parts?

About the only thing that's the same is the exterior of the tub. Floors are different. Frame is different. Springs are different. Both the spring width and the spring location on the rear axle are different. With a toolbox, it has to be '75 or earlier. I suppose you could do it with a lot of modification, but I'd keep looking.

Ain't a bad thing, the jeep would be more stable on the road!!!

Also if you already have a top you won't be able to install it on the 76 and up tub...

No, he would be going the opposite direction, from the wide frame to the narrow frame.

Agree with Tim. Don't go 76 and later to a 76 and earlier. Way to much fab work. I am putting a CJ6 'glass tub on a CJ8 frame and mixing and matching parts to get it to work. It is sometimes a night mare.

Of course, I'd pick up the frame and tub for a future project if everything is good and it has a title for $250 (offer him $200?).

Frame is now out of the garage and off to the scrap heap. Found a late model frame & tub on craigslist, going to take a look at it them tomorrow. Nice little drive to the coast, hopefully it will be worth it.
