I made me a GM alt bracket the other day for my hurrican , it went very easy. Too easy as I found out today on my lunch break . my mistake was in how I aligned my pully I used the string and eyeball technic which put it right in line with the other pullies. But what it didnt show me was the size (width) of the belt. Today I swung by the shop doing lunch hour to drop off some parts brown santa bought me and desided to put the belt on to give my hurrican the finshed look. To my surprize the belt was a size wider then the alt pully  , which created 2 problems one where to find a B belt pully and 2 my braket is now not right because the belt is going to be quater inch wider then planed. When I got back to work today I dug around though all my tractor alt cores I havnt sent back and found one pulley that MIGHT work  so Im going to try it tonite but i seriously dobt it works . So heres my question fellow board mems . Where do I find a B size pulley for it , or has someone goofed on my hurrican and put to big of a belt on it do to worn pullys? The pullys look ok to me they look to wide for an A size belt but the B thats in it looks like its sides are worn oddly which i blamed on being dry rotted.

    Jason-

Take a look at alternatorparts.com. That's where I bought my crappy "Universal" alternator mount and the wide pully to mate up with the rest of the pullys on my L-head.

    http://www.alternatorparts.com/Alternator_brackets_2.htm

You will want the A 203 pulley with the special nut.

    HTH ;)

Maybe you could try a narrow fan belt that fits your alternator and kind of fits in the middle of your other pulleys. . It's not like you will be running a real high RPM. I did the same on one my previous jeeps. ANd it worked ok.

Well thanks for the help guys . The pulley I robbed off the tractor core didnt work because it wouldnt come off the alt !@%%!# And my tractor part supplier might get upset if I sent one of there cores back with the front of the shaft wacked off by a torch lol. So I think Ill just order one from the site listed. Thanks again guys
