ran across this book at the library yesterday. "tex smiths how to do electrical systems 2nd ed." by skip reado.

meant for custom.

short book but plainly sets out the different ciruits mainly based on gm but also has the wire code pinouts for the gm columns aka jeep cherokee.

separates the ciruits into ignition, signals, brakes, lighting, acc, gauges etc. also explains how to make a decent fuse and connection panel. from that it's fairly easy to adapt any other panel from the yard or marine style.

decent and clear diagrams from end to end. most of the really good stuff is near the end of the stuff.
