Thanks ! I started on one of the front fenders i named it frankenfender :) Also i got one of the doors torn apart and getting the metalwork done on it. Anybody know what kind of top iv got? Im going to try to find some new locking handles for it looks like garage door handles should be perfect but iv got to get to the store. Also im going to need to know the name and paint code of the original color on the jeep posted above sooner or later. If anybody knows off hand thad be great. Thanks guys :)

I have been watching my two sons take mine apart. So far they have removed the seats, fuel tank, top and doors, and the tail lights. Most bolts have to be cut off due to rust. My frame looks worse than yours. I hope I can save it. I hope to have the tub off by Wednesday. I wish I had more time.

yea my frame wasnt too terribly bad. It was the worst the last few feet at the back and so i boxed it and replaced the bumper and everything as you can see. I am thankfull when my rusty bolts break off its less work than backing them off all the way or cutting them off :)
I figured out its a kelly top it says on the interior door handles. Also i got the run around today looking for matching garage door handles. Tomorrow im going the garage door store maby i can find what im looking for.
Also today my freind recommended i try a wire wheel on the grinder for ease of paint and rust removal. Good lord does that do the trick :) Rather than screw around smoothing out the old paint ill just shave it all off and save a ton of time and have a better finish.
Also im cutting up the bottom of the doors to better conform to the door opening so it looks less mail trucky. Looks great sofar. The portions of the door that are double layerd steel are posing a problem because it rusts between them. So i have to repair alot of that.

I worked on the fender more today i got it all together and pretty well smoothed out. I think its going to be just fine when its done. It feels very solid. I had to mount it to make a bunch of the final welds to be sure it wasnt tweeked. I also had to run a new wire through the steering column for the horn the old one had no continuity. Its starting to really look like a jeep im excited :)

I made a new rear section from 16 guage plate the old one was too crappy to fix. It was actually real easy only took liek 15 minutes to hammer it out. I actually got the hood almost done with the body work and the tailgate. And i pulled and painted the valve covers today. Anybody know where i can get some jeep dauntless v6 stickers for those?

Thanks ! im goint to wait till its all together to see how it looks without them but theyre definatly cool stickers. I considered getting one of those big 4 wheel drive decals for the taigate but i looked through my stuff and i have an old 4 wheel drive emblem from a comando or jeepster or somthing itll look nice. Next thing to bring out is the windsheild. Im going to make it body color i think

I hae the single shifter on mine (soon to be replaced by a twin-stick) and it only had a rubber gasket with a hole held down with an ovalish-diamond shape (?) ring that is approximately the same thickness of the ring that holds down the tranny shifter boot. I will try to remember to take a pic sfor you tomorrow. Excellent progress by the way.

I finished the body work on the jeep today just gotta wet sand it. All i got left to do is finish up the windsheild frame and then its paint. I had to do quite a bit to get the windsheild presentable. I cut off the soft top chanell and rewelded the whole top and i made a new panell for the underside because the old one was non existant.
How much paint will i need ? Im thinking about a quart and a half. Not sure what amounts they sell it in.
I also tore down the other door to keep me busy while paint is drying etc.
