Finally a test fit of the door with the new skin and other repairs, a little nervous, but with some adjustments as there are many yet to come, it should be ok. I put the rocker on to see how it fit and looks like it will be ok. A rocker that I bought locally, though brand new in the box, did not fit well at all, so another 100bucks. However I can use that metal for other repairs;)

I've since taken this all back apart and on a table ready for whenever my attention is ready~ the top of the wing bracketry failed at the top, just need to fabricate something, but should be ok. Right now it's all; parts are available.

As I've heard, aftermarket skins are never perfect, I think this one was pretty good. I'm waiting on some shims and are late~ grrr.

I would use Fluid Flm on those inside parts that you have so painstakingly reconstructed. With this type of application ,that mechanism will outlast our Lifetime. Very nice work. (y)

It's great, my parent's swear by it up north in the rust belt. It's lanolin based, so smells like wool, but creeps into all of the hard/impossible to reach places. I'm planning on spraying a bunch in my jeep's hat channels and seams.

Are you going to crimp the door skin around the door frame?

Yes Steve ;) I used a body dolly and it wasn't difficult, just a patience kind of thing. It's not something I want to make a habit of doing during a restoration; if I had it to do over, I'd of bit the bullet and just bought a door shell! lol However, I can say I have installed a door skin. ;)

This fluid film I hear about. How long will it last? Is it a one time application? or need to be reapplied every so often?

Depending on where you're at, and how bad the salt is, reapplication once a year isn't out of the question.

Did a door skin once too. A real pain. Ended up having to body work when done

I hear ya! I'll just have to use a little body filler/putty stuff along a few edges, not bad. Things we'll do to save a few bucks, then get kicked in the buttocks! lol

I just watched a show called Texas metal and it made me think of you. A shop down there redid a 76 Bronco for Ted Nugent. Now I want an old Bronco

I'm always looking for parts for my Bronco primarily on FB, and there's always a few on there, but I'm amazed how much a rusty bad shape early bronco goes for, including mine! I understand now why a "finished" one goes for 50-60k and that's a low price, but I must say, they are a cool looking vehicle!

Hi gang;) I found this pic and presented it because it has the same hood and rear fenders as mine. I'm not saying that I like the hood, but it's what I have. And the orange is, meh, maybe on this vehicle if the window frames and windshield frame was black, might break the orange. I wish I had an app that could put the colors I want on it that I'd like to look at. I'm also kind of liking the look without the hard top~ I'm wishy washy.
off to the shop to work on door adjustments; driving me nuts!

I definitely agree that the windshield and door window frames need to be black and I would add that the roll bar would look better black as well. But that is just my opinion

The only method I've found, for getting undercoating, or bedliner off, that isn't absolutely rage inducing is sandblasting. Every other method pretty much makes me want to throw things.
