The preparation for the Jeep space goes on. It starts with the "Miracle of Electricity".
Lot of people don't see how these 2 wires are fantastic, magic.
I just hope that ITER will bring new happiness to the planet. ScieI had to modify many things, fix meters of cable, protections, nce is good.
I was not in a hurry to put a good electricity system in this part of barn, but my Jeep asked for.
The starting idea was to move the hard top easily, and the choice was to put an electric hoist just above.
At the same time the need of light surged.
    because of arthritis, I am not happy to work with hands up, but a little bit, OK;
It took me 5 days of work, only some hours per day.
And with a temperature of 40°F inside, it is enough.:worry:
I had to draw meters of cable, fix protections, sockets... It takes a lot of time.
And checking. And putting things on order after work!
So, now, I have a good place for my Jeep.
because of Covid, the good junk dealer did not came, so it is little bit messy around.
    Patience.
next step is to fix the hoist in position. I have added meters of electric cord to it, because in China they like small cords, maybe they have small arms ? :D
I made parts to fix the hoist, I just need to duplicate myself to help me, ( or convince a son...)

Some pictures of the Jeep barn :

Dunno, it's a late flatty frame, I ponder if it was even a DJ.

Driveshaft arrived today. Waiting on parts to do a tie rod flip, electronic parking brake calipers (I might wire them independently :sneak:), and clear skies.

Here's a link. Electric Emergency Brake ( EEBrake ) Rear Bracket Kit, 41-75+ Jeep

Cheaper to make your own brackets but the fact that the calipers work with my current rotors and brake hoses is great. I bought two calipers for $40 shipped to the door. I also picked up two dpdt momentary switches to control them independently. With them being independent of each other there is the ability to front dig. Doubt I'd use something like that but it's an option. My only "fear" is the failure of the motor while the brake is applied. The 300zx calipers I have are rusted solid, $180 to replace, and almost impossible to find so that's why I went another direction.
Once everything is hooked up and tested I'll post my findings.

It was near our railroad, down, broken by a farmer coming, as usual... The smoking train is a souvenir precious...
It was often broken, now the Raiway cy stopped to change them or to put a new one.

Installed an Autogauge tachometer today. Not original of course but the Painless harness made wiring it up dead easy.

More rust removal. Some PO years ago mounted a 2" x 1/4" wall roll bar to a 1/4" diamond plate and bolted it to the fender tops with some sort of mud flap material under it. Close to 150LBS and completely rotted out the fender tops. Plus the bed floor was rusted through in a few spot.
. I've got sheets of 3/16" diamond plate from a flatbed we parted out and installed a utility box on. SOOOO.
I added extra angle at each end of the bed and T angle at each side.CJ5 Bed Floor [/GALLERY]Then the new bed floor.

I pulled the tires and wheels back off because the powdercoat was iffy directly at the seam between rim center and the rim. I got some white Rustoleum which matched perfectly and dabbed it in carefully. Did all 5. Did I mention I grew up with really rusty vehicles. I am now like the people who lived through the great depression and hoarded stuff later, even when money was not as tight. Im like that but with rust.
