You nailed it!! I didn't know the flashers were separate, I just switched flashers and the blinkers work now but the hazards don't. It's a bad flasher! I'll replace it of course, but the bigger question is why does a flasher go bad on a new wiring harness? Luck of the draw, or is something else at work?

I really do appreciate the compliments. I'll have to post a full spread in the builds forum.

The rig looks great Norm. I've been following your build and have been waiting to see the results. It was well worth the wait. I hope to see you and your Jeep at a car show/meet in the area.

Thanks guys...I really do appreciate the compliments. It's been a long time coming and I'm just happy to have it running at the beginning of the warm season. Once the engine and mechanics are broken in, it'll get plenty dirty breaking it in on some trails.

That's a sweet Jeep. You say there are more pics in the build thread? I'm going to go check it out.

Not yet. It will have to be a retro build thread since I didn't post there during the 6 years to complete it. I'm still compiling the pics and stuff.

Norm, good lookin' rig. I know the feeling, after a few years of projects, cruising around is just thrilling :). Below is a shot of where mine stands in the on-going builds.

As for your questions, I don't think I read if anyone commented on the speedo issue or not. Some wiser people here can correct me if I'm wrong, but there should be no connection (electrically speaking) between the speedometer and lights/flashers other than back-lighting (not function). On my '76, I have a mechanical speedometer cable, it does not get any kind of electrical signal. You might want to check the speedo cable and both ends for condition. Also, if it continues I would also question the internals of the speedo guage itself. Just a thought.
