I know this is really going back bringing this thread up but I just realized that my jeep has Ford rims on the back, ack!! They have the Ford oval stamped on them, and have the 4 nubs. (At least they have not been enlarged to fit the front hub, guess that's why they're on the back) The front rims are correct. They have the 55 stamped on the rim by the valve stem and have 3 nubs. So, now off to find 2 rims.

This might be proof of Ford rims...

Wonder how close the ihc scout wheels look to the jeep wheels. The center is 4.125. Did jeep get wheels from the same supplier, as international?

Yes certainly. I have had wheels off a Scout from the original owner that were Kelsey Hayes three nub wheels identical to the 64ish to 76ish Jeep wheels.

These wheels came off a 64 CJ-5. Does this style look original to this year? I'm not sure because the spare was a different style (that one was toast, unfortunately).
    Thanks,

Donny will know the right wheels for the year, but the two on the left are different than the two on the right. Look closely at the slots where the center section meets the rim. The left ones have a rectangular slot, the right ones have a crescent shaped slot. Lots of subtle differences in these wheels.

Man that is a keen eye Tim E. I had to look three times do see the difference. I need to be more detail oriented. Focusing is not my strong suit. :banghead:

Wow, good eye! I had not noticed the difference. The two on the right are definitely in better shape. I think they will clean up just fine. I suspect the two on the left will be usable but might need tubes- deterioration of the valve stem hole. After I get them in the blasting cabinet I'll know a lot more.

I'm no expert, and learned something here a year or so back regarding "original" rims, proving what I thought I knew was wrong. Your wheels pictured are correct 3 nub (hubcap nub) wheels used through the 1960's, and are the same style as my original '64 wheels were with the raised flat lockring for the lugs. A year or two later, a second "correct" wheel came out with humps between the lug holes, similar to Ford rims, and seems to have been used interchangably (in sets) with the earlier style you have pictured. I believe either of these wheels were used by AMC through the intermediate years, but changed to a 4 nub design in the later 1970s.
Tim has a sharper eye than me to pick out the shape of the 4 slots being different as I have never noticed this feature.
I can't find a set of those original 3 nub wheels here in south Florida, though I've been looking.
