    Hi Guys,

Well its time for me to hook up my throttle and I am starting with nothing. My original tub had nothing so its a blank canvass. Any pics or tricks that would help me get the right parts to get this all hooked up? 67 CJ5 w/ 225 V6, stock style Rochester 2 bbl carb. Would appreciate you allowing me to draw off of your knowledge......I am definitely open to any and all suggestions that work the best. Not locked into original design on this.

    Appreciate your help.

Thank you Dave. I have definitely been searching around on here trying to figure out which way to go. It seems like some use a cable and others use a hard linkage. Originally my CJ5 came with a 4 cyl, then someone did a hack job v8 install, and I am putting a 225 in it, with a new body. So I guess basically I just have to pick a direction and go for it. No matter what I do, it will require me to buy everything and make it work.

Good luck on your linkage quest/decisions!

Here's my 1967 CJ5 with a 225 Dauntless & Rochester 2g carb. The linkage shows up pretty well in this picture. The top cable is manual choke & the lower cable is dash-mounted throttle.

Thank you Dave. That's a great pic and it helps a bunch. Now I guess I best have google start sourcing me some parts. I would guess they are available if I just call them the right names. Looks like there are 3 parts, the carb linkage, the bracket and assembly on the firewall, and then the pedal assy inside. Take care and thanks again!

Follow-up on this, any of you guys know where I can find the linkage and firewall bracket in the pictures below? I found in this and another post on this site. Cable setups are pretty easy to come by. but I would much rather have a hard linkage from carb to pedal.

Unless you find a Jeep in the junkyard with this linkage, it won't be available. Jeeps don't have the parts availability of Chevrolets and Fords. NOS for something like this will be near impossible. Aftermarket support only includes service parts and other things that wear out. Maybe you'll find a part-out of a rust bucket somewhere. Lokar and others make some nice parts for hot rods that you could make work, I'd think. Summit, Jegs? Speedway Pedals | Speedway Motors, The Racing and Rodding Specialists

Or maybe go to the pick-and-pull and look for ideas of something you could make work from another vehicle.

Or you can make it yourself with a piece of 5/16" round stock. It's not that hard with nothing more than a MAPP torch and a bench vice, if you really want one that looks like that.

Just FYI....the pictures posted by Rozcoking23 above are of the linkage for the V6 models with the type of gas pedal attached to the floor with studs, which I believe started with the 1969 model year, and was used through 1971.

The one posted by EFranzen immediately above is the earlier type of linkage for the hanging pedal, which was used with the V6 CJ-5s from 1966 through (I think) 1968.

My CJ-6 was missing the gas pedal. I ended up building a pedal out of a scrap piece of 1/2" cold rolled steel.

I think he needs the treadle picture.
It's on one of fireball's builds... maybe the blue one.
