Laugh now but these fence posts make perfect hat channels!!

    All welded up.

Quite a bit of work to do ( seat belts, body mounts, front and rear seat mounts) before I can weld it in. We turned the edges up so we had some good steel to weld to. Everything below the floor is pretty well rusted away.

Getting these seatbelt mounts out was pretty easy with the spot weld cutter.

    All welded on.

I have used at least 2 cans of PB Blaster so far. Picked up some more at Lowes yesterday.

This pump on the gear oil was lots easier than squeezing it in by the quart.

No Jeep work for the next several days. Cynthia and I are playing tourist in NYC.

I did sweep up the garage well before we left Florida.

Received two new drums in the mail today so put the hubs on the spindles so I can finally bleed the brakes.

This all looks almost to good.

The rear drums are in poor shape but I have a lead on a couple drums right in town.

I had a homemade washer on the rear tapered hub to get it all together but it wouldn’t allow the dust cover on. Walck’s had a couple used washers for me. Score!

Spent the rest of the evening just organizing and putting up tools. Cynthia said she will help me tomorrow with bleeding brakes.

After that I hope to push it outside and spend some time on the’66 before we leave for Colorado.

Last night I did get brake juice to all 4 corners by just leaving the bleeder open and pumping. It took some extra time as I needed to mess around with the pedal as it was hitting the Ross box. It was to late by then and I didn't do a real bleeding. Hopefully tonight I can adjust all the shoes and get Cynthia to help bleed.

    Wet floor...

Fish tank air line fits nicely over bleeder screws, fish tank air line can be run back to the reservoir. That minimizes fluid needed.
Go front lt, ft rt, rear lt, rear rt and it should minimize the help needed.

PO removed the rear crossmember and added a heavy angle iron bumper/crossmember. I guess he removed the rear body mounts at the same time. I just added two back on. Much stiffer in the rear.

I took the 31ATs off to put on the free Jeep. Put the 33MTs on for the Colorado trip in a week.

You can really see the difference here.
