Ambulance Doors?

    Has anyone seen "Ambulance" style doors on a CJ5?

    Like the kind that are found on FJ40's

    What kind of top was that, Howard? The back of the Meyer cab (the most common type) slants forward at a slight angle, and these doors are flat. I have seen the barn door for the Meyers cab ie Gerald's (wuze) Jeep, but none split like this.

    My dad had some on his Cj5. Its been on my mind for years because I’ve never seen another top like it.

    Koenig had barn doors for the back of there hard tops also.

    Many years ago, I parted out a CJ5 with a hardtop that "barn doors", taking the place of the tailgate. It may have been a Koenig top? There was a tag on the top, but that was 40 years ago.

    I have seen the Meyer cab with a single rear door, that replaces the tailgate. Wuze's Jeep is like that.

    IIRC we have some Meyer Cab literature online here somewhere that shows this style of door as optional.

    Gotta admit, those doors have a cool factor of their own. They do seem kind of limited in value on a vehicle with such a small back area....ease of access must have been the reason for the design.

    Unfortunately I have a Meyers top with the slight angle so Ambulance doors are a no go for me.
