Hi, I am about to start the front floor replacement. I originally got the jeep with barely any of the original floor to go by. I want to make the channels with 1x2 beams. Now, can anyone post some pics/measurements of where to position the beams? Does it go on the edge of the tub or under? Are the support channels visible from the outside or are hidden by the sides of the tub? Thanks!

I welded in the new sheet metal floors then placed the tub on the frame. Mark or tack weld the floor supports so they line up with the body/frame mount locations. I wouldn't rely on original (or any other) measurements for a 50YO Jeep to end up being correct.

When I replaced my floor I just copied the original.
Here is a picture to help. It's a M38a1 body so the gas tank well isn't there on a CJ.

Scott, did you buy those hat channels or make them?
    Those look really good.
Great advise about lining up the mounting plates. Tried making my own hat channels
but they did not come out uniform on the bender.
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Thanks,

I got some years ago from Jeep Panels Plus long since out of business.

Those look like they fit pretty well/
