I am just happy that it seems to have found a good home.

I made up a list of parts I want to get for the jeep. :poke:

Um... errrrr, sorry wrong one, hang on a sec, let me upload... and there! :bash:

And I’m assuming these two holes in the dash are for the grab bar, right?

And is there supposed to be a grommet or something around the parking brake where it goes through the fire wall? Judging by the paint marks, it looks like there used to be one.

There was a small piece of an original grommet there when I put the brake together.

You got a defective Jeep. Needs to be returned to Washington for repairs. It's kind of like a recall, so don't ignore it...

I was having a blast ripping it on the trail to the swimming hole today. I think most people forget just how much fun a stock jeep is to drive. Sorry for the shaky camera. It’s hard to hold the phone, shift, and steer all at the same time. My order for the third arm hasn’t come in yet.

I would say so! I’d love to know why it has so little miles on it.

It had been in storage since 1967. So only 11 years of driving in a small town?

Totally agree! My own stock one-owner low-miles '56 is all I need. Pure pleasure, and costs me almost nothing, year after year. And the fact it is an original survivor just keeps getting sweeter.

If you are going with bias tires, I would go with 16" wheels/tires - because you can. :D

That’s why I built Ted the way I did. Without using the granny 1st or the air lockers, he is pretty much a stock jeep. I really enjoy wheeling him that way and then with a few flips of the switches, boom he will go anywhere.

I have a set of 16s, but they aren't nearly as nice as the 15s that came with this Jeep. I also prefer the looks of the slightly wider tires.

Yes they are. I suspect they were optional, since my '56('57) never seemed to have had one until I installed one. The original owner had used a towel bar.

I did a little more digging today in my parts stash and found an original spring with washer for the brake pedal and A good rebuildable fuel/vacuum pump for an f head.

    Good looking Jeep!
I modified another groument from a more modern vehicle on mine for the e brake hole. Worked pretty well

I like how original it is

As I was looking the jeep over, I noticed that the 4wd stencil was visible on the tailgate.

I wet sanded it and it did come pretty good.

I also did the same with the JEEP on the sides of the tub.
