What years of cj5 sun visors fit the same holes in the windshield frame as the early cj5? I would like to put sun visors on my 1971 cj5 but do not want to drill new holes. Any help would be great.

I don't have visors either...I don't see any visor holes? Are they on top of the frame by chance? My bikini cover is on so I can't see the top of the frame.

if i remember on my '71 they are on the rear top face of the windsheild on the inside. i took mine off and screwed it to my roll bar so i has a visor when the windsheild is off

I don't think renegades had tailgates, but I am not sure about the first rengades.

Sun visors were an option you could get through the dealer. I had them put on my new '69.

The holes are in the same surface as the mirror and the footman loop to hold the windshield down. I see there are plenty on ebay however most are from 1972 on up.

Those are soft top rod mounts I believe if you're talking about the 90 degree brackets. Definitely not visor mounts.
Iirc the visors screwed right to the as frame as said early. I'm sure the mounting is the same on '72-'75 as it makes no sense to change that. Not sure if the colors or patterns would be the same or not.

    Did you know?
Here you must have sun visors in order to pass the annual inspection test !!!

About a year ago, i ordered a pair of sun visors fron someone called cjlaredo on ebay. I think he was the only vendor who doesnt sell Omix.

Oddfirejeeper is correct. In matter of fact the screws in his picture look like the original ones.
Here is a picture of them installed.
These are factory installed original ones.
Sorry for the poor picture, it is the only one I have on this computer.

I got a Hammacher Schlemmer catalog yesterday, Spring Preview 2016, and on page 30 they had a see through sun visor made out of polycarbonate that looks like it could be adapted to a Jeep. Looks like it is worth a look. You could probably find it online. It is item number ND-87083. Just to let you know.

I wear mine on my head. It's called a cap.

And were not the sunvisors an option?
If so, then if you JEEP came without them, you didn't have to have them. Like the seatbelts.

Agreed, some people were saying they were required in some States. I am sure people wonder how I keep my cap on at 50 mph and the windshield laid down, just don't look up, and the wind holds it on.

In Florida windshield down is a no no, if it came with a windshield it has to be up. Too many bugs around here anyway.

grandpa offered me advice when I first started riding a motorcycle around...

Open your mouth, the bugs don't hit you in the face that way...
