Hi, my name is Daniel Nichols. I'm serving in the U.S. Navy and have bought my late grandpas 62 CJ5 from my father to save it from being sold to someone else who might not give it the love I have planned for it. While on leave I pulled out the tired F134 and T90/Dana 18/Warn O.D. I have sent the tranny/transfercase/O.D. to Novak to be rebuilt. I have a 5.3L L33 Chevy V8 ordered and on the way to Novak to be all married together. That brings us up to speed on my project.

My questions are IRT to what would be the best springs/lift, steering and brakes to go with. I have been consulting w/ Eric at Novak who has been a tremendous help. I plan on ordering Alcan springs 2 1/2" wide w/ 4" lift on them. The Jeep is currently at an axle shop waiting for my springs to arrive.

      Questions:
Is a 4" lift w/ 33" tires and the V8/SM420/Dana 18/Warn O.D. be the most righteous set-up for my Jeep? I am aware of the offset axles.
What is the size dropped pitman arm I'll need?
What other parts do I need for the steering conversion. (I think the axles/springs will be taken care of by the time I'm home on leave for Christmas.
Is 9-10 days a reasonable amount of time to install the Novak prepared drivetrain and to upgrade to a power Saginaw steering sytem? I'm hoping that whatever axles I and the axle shop agree on will have or be ready for disc brakes.

I've been reading through this website for several weeks now and have a pretty good game plan based on what I have learned here. Is there anything else I need to be made aware of or does anyone have some suggestions.

      Very Respectfully,

      IS2 Daniel Nichols USN
