I assume you are referring to the ones with the big V-tread. I guess they were some kind of tractor tire. They say "Not for highway use" on the sidewall. The size on them read 15X7.00. They measured 29" in diameter.

Thanks to everyone for the comments and a lot of credit goes to all the people on this forum who have posted all the information I gathered here. There is certainly a wealth of knowledge here and it was a huge help. Now I am looking forward to enjoying it. :driving:

I also appreciate the magician comment but I think I took the easy way out going stock. I see a lot more magic from you guys doing the awesome fabrication and modifications you do. That's MAGIC! Cudos to you guys.

nice work. The before & after shots are amazing. I especially like the color scheme ;)

Is it a new tub? Did you buy it like that, with the rear 'swoops' in the top edge?

Did the Jeep logo come with it?

Thanks. The wheels are little further from white than I wanted but they are growing on me. Don't look as bad as I thought they would.

I see you are biased on your opinion of my color choice.
The tub is a Repli-tub from Willys Overland. Yes the 'swoops' came with it and I am sure people have noticed it is the wrong logo in the wrong place. One of those 'I'll just live with it' things. I figure the general population won't notice the difference. MDMeltdown got his there, too, but I think his logo is correct.

    Thanks, Hawk.

Hey 4xfool......LOL....I was just about to ask you about that logo. I could tell it was a W/O tub from that flat primer they use on the holes they cut. What did Jay say about the logo deal? The pics he sends out don't have that type. I think that logo is pretty cool actually. It's in the same font and placement as on the Wranglers. You could actually buy the pre-made stickers to go on that embossing. I went through hell trying to get decals cut that would fit the original font.

Oh, I also see you had him fix that new dash too. I guess your original was fubar. Mine wasn't bad, it just had a radio hole I had to weld up. I was glad too...I wasn't looking forward to shelling out another $100 + bucks for him to cut the instrument hole, steering column, etc. Just out of curiousity, did he weld bolts on the back side for the instrument cluster?

Jay actually called me about it when it came in and let me know it was wrong. But I had already taken off work and had the trailer ready to make the trip. I think he said it would be another 6-8 weeks at least to get another one. For as long as it sat here once I got it I should have waited.

My original was (is) in pretty decent shape. The problem is that it wasn't bolted on, it was welded. I had to cut the body to get it off. I held on to it for reference. I am not sure if the remnants of the old tub can be removed without boogering the whole thing up.

That's good he called you about it. I debated on driving to get my tub too, except it would have cost the same in gas as the tax if I bought it in person. I just had him ship it. It's too bad you live on the other side of the country. I'd love to compare notes on our builds

A guy down the street built a flatty a few years ago and hand built his own tube useing the original as a template. I'll try to snap a picture next time I hear it roarin down the road.
