Can someone with a 67 CJ5 post a pic

Could someone with a restored 67 CJ5 please post a pic of the back of their Jeep. I'm trying to figure out how the tail lights were set up originally, as well as back up lights. Someone installed rectangular late CJ style tails and I'm pretty sure this isn't how it's supposed to look. Also I'm pretty sure someone installed a 69-75 windshield on this because it has electric wipers with the motor cover on the outside, or was this an option on mine. I traced my VIN and it just tells me it was built sometime in NOV-DEC. 1966 in Canada with the 225/86/18 driveline and it was an open Jeep.

Is the WS square or does it have the round top?

Could be the bottom mounted wipers started earlier than '68 as previously thought? If it's rounded then we know it's a transplant from '69-up.

Taillights were round, as were backup lights, separate and round.

It does have a rounded top, but the windshield that came with my Tux Park chassis came with a rounded top too, but with vacuum wipers that were top mounted. :(

Okay. i just checked them both. I never noticed the diff. in the glass untill now. The WS on my 67 is definately rounded. The WS/ and frame are in great shape, should I just keep it on there and be happy with the luxury of power wipers, or try to hunt down an era specific windshield. The one on the Tux park is junk, and I have no idea how the vacuum system works.

Just rolled my '67 CJ6 into the garage today to start the teardown.

    I believe mine is a Oct-Nov '66 build date.

On the windshield, switching from the upper wipers to bottom wipers is a very common swap. Unless your
going for a strictly factory stock, I would leave it alone. I plan on switching my 67 to a bottom wiper
    windshield.

Thanks so much for the pics. I probably will stick with the windshield I have just as an issue of cost and finding another one. I'm not going for pure restoration, as it will be a toy of sorts, not a show rig.

    I'd keep it.

You must not be tall enough to notice the difference in glass when driving? ;)

LOL I'm 6"4". My 67 is a roller. So I haven't had the chance to drive it yet. Both the windshields were off so I'm learning as I go. My first CJ5 was a 75, so I am still learning when it comes to the 55-71's. I plan on posting pics as soon as I can figure out how.

You'll figure out the difference then. ;)

I do not know when back up lights were added but neither my 66 nor 67 has one.

    By '68 they did then.

My '67 doesn't have them. HMM. T14 came around in '68, and has a reverse light switch. T86 came before, and IIRC, has no reverse light switch.... Did the F Head CJ's have reverse lights 68 and up?

    MOP's '68 has reverse lamps (I thought!) I know it had a T86.

The T86 in Linus has a boss for the switch and a switch in it. Not hooked up though.

    There's a good possibility I don't know what I'm talking about...
    Just theorizing :D

There's a good possibility that my brain is mush and memories can't be depended on upon any more than you can depend on Panzer to show up somewhere. :D

'67 I'm parting does not have back up lights and the T-86 did not have a provision for a backup lamp switch. The '68 tub I have has back up lamps in the tub. Take it fwiw...R)

My 67 has the back up lights but not in the same position as the picture shown. They were moved from the original position that is up higher than the posted photo to the side because of an add on tire carrier. The factory hole is still there and I may go back to it if i change the carrier. My jeep has been in my family from day one and it has back up lights. The switch was put on the dash when it stopped working on the t86. New 4 speed tranny now but I think i will leave it on the dash.

aallison 74 cj6, 76 cj5. Has anyone seen my screwdriver?

Also, you can get electric wipers to replace the old vacuum units. I understand the marine applications are better quality than automotive one's.......
