I would like to thank all of the members that have helped me along the way with detail pictures, measurements, advice, critical eyes and supplying or sourcing impossible to find parts. it has truly been an adventure.

and to Sparky and the other folks that provide the services of this forum, I can not thank you enough for being here for all of us

    It Moved!:coffee:

I actually fired up the $ sink and drove around the back yard in granny low:)

first time I have been able to drive it in 2 months... now I need about a week without rain so the ground will get hard enough to get it out of the back yard without digging trenches

thanks Nickmil for your patience and help.

thanks, I had to fill and move alot of holes and repair alot of damage to both covers. the lower cover had to have the hole widened to accomodate the t18 and the upper cover had to be widened and have the shifter hole relocated forward. they are spray painted to get through the winter and both seal up real well. now I need to figure out some boots:rofl:

You could do a Chevy truck boot for the trans, but it looks like an M38A1 T90 boot might work. I'd try the Dana 18 twin stick boot for the t-case. All available from the military parts guys. (Debella or Midwest Military to name 2.)

i got the t-18 boot from the ford that the trans came out of and it will work for the trans, the twin sticks are very thick and the standard twin stick rubber boot for sale through all of the suppliers will not slide down over them without tearing. I will prolly fab up a boot out of leather or buy one of the repro ones for mil jeeps
