Anyone have any exp fabricating roll cages that integrate the CJ6 half cab? I was curious if a good looking practical way exists to incorporate the two.

Yup - depending on space you can put a hoop inside or out of the cab. Then use a flange to slug the cage through the top like you would if you were passing a cage through a body to tie to the frame.

    Sledgehammer Sure, I'll try it

I have a 5 with a half cab and hope to do a truck style cage with a hoop by the windshield and another one inside the back of the cab tied together at top and low on the sides.

I'm leaning towards building one on the inside of the cab leaving just enough space between it and the back section to pass the cab thru/over and just have it in two sections.

only thing with that is it may look a little odd without the top on having two hoops there side be side.

True I'm might just look a little closer at modifying the metal half cab wrangler style.

I was thinking of fabricating a simalr pass thru seen in this picture. it does look like the top section of the roll bar is removable though.

They sell metal flanges for plumbing/fencing etc....if bolted back to back it seems like you'd keep some structural integrity and be able to remove the back section if you need to.......been thinking about this myself;)

With the hoop on the inside you put a 'slug' with a flange (think exhaust type of hookup) to a hole at the top back of the top. You then fit the rear portion of the cage pipe that fits snug over the slug and the flanges bolt together. Use neopreen or another type of 'squeezable' seal fabric between the flanges and it's weather tight.

I have even seen a guy use two slug setups to pass throught the top along the back to make it stronger. He could use or not the rear half of the cage with a blank put into the flange fittings. Looked and worked good.
