    All,

I managed to get my aluminum tags off the firewall tonight with a razor blade and some good luck.

Vin tag has minor irritation on one corner where the hole augered out, had to drill out the pop rivets. Looks very good to me.

My paint code says Spruce tip green, but under the tags is white... And then navy yellow was the primary, but sprayed over the top edge of the manufacturer sticker, then the PO painted metallic blue... Further protected with overspray. Anyone else ever run across this? Colors under do not match.

Aside from not being able to find green anywhere...

Has anyone refurbed the original tags? I was thinking of photoing them, then make reverse stencils and then airbrushing back the black... I'm not an airbrush guy, but with practice on some other stuff, I think it might work...

Acetone is cleaning the PO blue overspray off, but I've also had it eat a little black on the tags which were near the battery.

    Thoughts?

Late on picts... but you can see the over spray blue, and the thin yellow line on another.

Might look at the underside of the cowl behind the dash. That's an oft-overlooked area that may have some original paint left.

I'll start looking in all the nicks and crannies.

since my cowling - air vent doesn't look stock, I'm going to have a lot of fun. I have a picture or three I snapped up under the dash, i will dig those up and look some more.

    Hunting for green...
