    Can the valve springs in an odd fire be changed without pulling the heads?
    Just realized with the commitment to my crane can I did not install the recommended springs. Thanks!
    Oh to go back 25 years and advise my youthful impatient self.....

    Yes with the right spring compressor and air chuck in the spark plug hole.

    Another person mentioned filling up cyl with cord or string and raising the cyl to the top of it's stroke

    Rubber vacuum tubing works well for this also and gives a bit more cushion.

    Either way works fine. It doesn't take much pressure to hold the valves up. Air method works faster for me.
