I've got the same transmission sitting in the bed of my parts chaser truck! Only mine is an earlier version no neutral start, or backup light switch, same casting numbers though. Also attached to a Chevy V8 bellhousing but one from the early 60's with bellhousing mount starter!

Look up ACME T98 they were licensed to build for Canadian M37 trucks I believe? But never heard of a GM application...

You should be able to drag-and-drop the picture into the forum. There is a size limit, and the forum will not resize for you. 800x600 or thereabouts is good for web posting. If your pictures are larger than this, you must resize them using a program like PIXresizer, one of many such programs available free on the net. .

That's crazy! I've scoured the net and found nothing until yours! So it's a Canadian made t98? Perhaps a conversion company bought up some military surplus and sold them on as a kit for Chevy trucks?
The transmission is on the way to me when it arrives I will strip the top cover and see if I can work out exactly what I have? Hoping it can be adapted to my Dana 20!

So I've finally got the transmission on my work bench. Cover is off and did some counting. The transmission seems to have a 6.3 approx 1st gear.
    1st gear/idler gear counts are 43/17?
