I have a 3-speed trans and a tcase that some moron cut the shifters off of. I guess that they did a wrecking yard removal without jacking the vehicle up. Anyway, I was wondering before I start looking (begging) for a set of shifters, maybe I could just fab a set and weld them onto the stubs. Has anyone ever done this?? There is prolly an inch and a half of trans stick left. Maybe a sleeve over top to join the old with the new. A

    Hey, what about aftermarket??

Tonk had a "cut own" shifter cane on the tranny, I really kinda liked it that way. Not as much "slop", at least not as noticable. I've seen sports cars that didn't shift as nice as that-

BTAIM, when I get around to rebuilding the tranny a full size cane will be going in because:

    a- It's "stock"

    &

b- Rachel doesn't like the cut down one, she has trouble reaching down to it.

Don't ask about her opinion on my fabbed up (actually, fabbed "down" ) overdrive shifter :( -
