I had this extra plate under the bottom of my T 86 case:

Here’s how it looked when I pulled the transmission off, with sliced bolt heads and all:

and this extra plate on the bottom of my D18 case:

are these things stock? Or were these added by the previous owner for unknown reasons?

There was some funkiness going on around the transmission crossmember area that I am trying to undo.

Those are both nicely done. So I guess - stock.

There’s a lot of good info in this thread:

    Transfer case mount? D18

Seems as if these plates that I cleaned up are stock under the T86 with a 225 V6 & D18. The “z” plate seems a little twisted - wondering if it got torqued badly at some point.

Thanks. And no side frame rail mount to D18, correct?

That "Z" bkt is a torque suppressor with rubber mounts that bolt to the D-18 and then down to the far right side of the cross-member. The bkt is mounted between two rubber bushings.

This is what I’ve got in my parts box:

Is it different? Looks the same to me and the PO May have gotten it from Crown instead of Omix.

    I have that same Z bracket on my '67 V6 w/ T-86 and D-18:

The bolt is in backwards, though, and it doesn't have a castellated nut....looks like I need to replace it with a new bushing and bolt:
