hopefully that solves the problem
You'll never believe it...
Nope. It didn't. :"( I can't get this thing to not do that.
Is it still overheating Sammy, or just running the temp up when you drive hard? The reason I ask, if I remember right, the flat head temp sensor is located in a spot that gives more of an indication of head temp than the mixed return temp. Is your heater hose closed? When I had my flat head, I would bypass the heater in the summer time and let the water flow to keep my temp down a little.
Just some thoughts, been a long time since I've had my flathead.
Running hot, it puked a tiny bit today, maybe half a cup, even at 220. It's right there in the head, not in the coolant. I'm also wondering if the gauge isn't off... I'll test it tomorrow. I do bypass the heater since.. I don't have one. Lol.
Some coolant out of the overflow is normal, you just had to much in there. My m38 runs about 160-180 and I have a pretty nasty raditor.
you havnt checked the guage!? man thats the first thing id check. the pukeing could just be an overfull radiator especially if you have no catch can. my coolant sits right down about at the top of the fins . if i fill it anymore it pukes out
The temp gauge was about 10 degrees high... But it's still running hot
You replaced the cap, right?
have you changed the stat yet?
New 180* stat, temp gauge reading high (10-15 sometimes...) fresh coolant, and it was overflow and it puked that out into a bottle, clean fluid still, should be top of the fins. I'm thinking going with a 160 tstat.
New 7# cap and it's holding good pressure.
I'd put this in before I ever...EVER considered a V6
Yer right, those v6's are junk.
The jeep is just mad because you are woking on the VW
What's the bolt pattern on the bellhousing on that Ferd V8? I've seen a few of those in flatties before.
