Steel 1/2 top

    I think I'm going to fab. one for my CJ-5 since I haven't been able to find one. Any of you guys done this? If so any tips or suggestions would be greatly appriciated!!

    metal roller would come in handy to make curves.

    I was going to do the same thing. i had a nice hard top and i butchered it to make a half top. Stupid me :( I still have te top portion of the hard top, maybe one day i will finish it and make hard top sides

    someday i think that i will do that. already have a full hardtop. but i dont need a full one in the winter and i figure a half would warm up a lot quicker when it is snowing out

    why not have a tarp made w/window in it to close up the hardtop? something like a curtain, with a zippered window/access point.

    cut down full one time because it was rusted across the back because it sat on the ground

    I have seen this done before - by someone who frequents this site. Take a half cab top, add to it the ~20 inch panels from a cj6 hardtop, and cut a full top down several inches.

    It takes the top almost all the way to the rear and really looks sharp. I have most of the pieces to do this myself and one of these days...
