Sm420

    Started 420 install today. Friend has a lift,
    Makes it a little easier and I am too old to
    be crawling around on the ground. Anyway got everything out and ready to
    start installing new tranny tomorrow.
    Anyone know of a good driveline shop in
    Colorado Springs ?

    I've had spotty luck in the last few years so I moved on to using Tom Woods off the net. Like the longer stroke you can get that way for the setups.

    They Did My drive shafts front and rear , also did the ring and pinion in the front axle.

    I had to modify the opening in my floor to fit the SM420 in mine. I've heard some people have clearance issues with the front driveline and the hump on the side of the SM420, although not sure why since mine clears by several inches.

    Here's how much of my floor ended up getting cut

    Great looking install. Sm420 has a super low gear.

    While I'm at it decided to take a look at the
    xfer case. Everything looks good, intermediate shaft looks new. Discovered
    rearend has a powerlock. The more I crawl around on this old Jeep the more I
    find to like about it. 4.88s, powerlock,
    Holly manifold, eldebrock 1404, pwr steering.
    Gotta get this 420 in and update the brakes.
    This is my first CJ, I'm stoked!
