I got a set of stock steel wheels off of a junkyard Scout, relative to a stock '62 CJ wheel they are about an inch wider but they have 1/4" more backspace, 3-3/4's vs. 3-1/2". So my question is can I run these with a 31 X 9.50 X 15 tire or will I run into rubbing the front spring troubles? Have not bought tires yet, the ones I'm looking at are advertised as replacement for 235/75/R15. I understand they aren't a high quality tire, but they are pretty cheap, and I am rarely on a paved road and almost never hit 40mph. Thanks

those are some of the best mud tires out there if you can find the bottom or can really spin them to keep them cleaned out. if the tires rub don't turn so far or you can lose a little bit of turning radius by adjusting the stops. you can also get a 1" spacer for the fronts.

I'll just leave this here, and back away slowly.

Those will be fine. If they do rub, it won't be much, and you can adjust your steering stops out a bit.

I have a set of 16x4.5 international scout wheels and I'm kinda wondering the same thing if I will have rubbing issues. Since I have never seen a set of 16 inch jeep wheels up close to see if the back spacing is the same.
