Am I correct in that only the shackle length effects castor angle? A suspension lift would have no effect on castor right?

Experience shows that caster (not castor - that's the Latin name for beaver, a type of oil from the bean with that name, and one of the Gemini twins in mythology, the other being Pollux) changes with a lift. Caster is like the casters on your serving or shopping cart. Best practice is to measure the angle after installing your lift and adjust as needed.
